Trading Rules

RFF has simple rules that need to be followed to get a payout

1. Daily Drawdown for Real Funded Accounts

Limit: 8%

Type: Fixed
This means the drawdown limit remains constant and does not change with account equity.

2. Daily Drawdown for Instant Funded Accounts

Limit: 5%

Type: Equity-Based

Calculation

Maximum Daily Loss = Equity (recorded at the end of the previous day) × Max Daily Loss Percentage

Equity is recorded at the end of each trading day midnight GMT 00:00.

What This Means

  • Each day starts with a new maximum daily loss calculation based on the previous day’s closing equity;
  • If your equity drops below this limit at any point during the day, the challenge fails immediately;
  • This limit resets every day at midnight GMT 00:00 based on the new end-of-day equity

    Example:

  • $100K Account, 5% Daily DD (Equity-Based, Dynamic)

    Start of day:
    Equity = $100,000
    5% limit = $5,000
    Floor = $100,000 − $5,000 = $95,000

  • During the day, you go on a winning streak:
    Equity climbs to $103,000

    The floor updates based on this new high:
    5% limit = $103,000 × 5% = $5,150
    New floor = $103,000 − $5,150 = $97,850

  • The Max Daily Loss limit cannot, under any circumstances, exceed the Max Overall Loss limit.

1. Real Funded Account (100% Overall Drawdown)

Rule: The account will only close when the full balance is lost (100% drawdown).

Example:

Initial balance: $10,000

If the trader incurs a loss of $10,000 (100% of the account balance), the account will close.

This type of account allows traders to take more risks since the overall drawdown is the entire balance.

2. Instant Funded Account (10% Overall Drawdown)

Rule: The account will close if the total losses reach 10% of the Initial account balance.

Example:

Initial balance: $100,000

10% of $100,000 = $10,000

If the trader incurs a loss of $10,000, the account will close.

  • This is a ‘hard’ limit based on your initial balance
  • Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the closure of your account.

This type of account requires more disciplined trading because the overall drawdown limit is stricter.

Key Difference

Real Funded Account: Can lose the full amount.

Instant Funded Account: Only allows a maximum loss of 10%

This helps traders understand the risk tolerance and rules of each account type.

Yes, news trading is allowed. We have no restrictions on news trading, providing you with maximum flexibility in your trading strategy.

Every trade the traders places should not be less than three minutes. You should keep the trade open for 180 seconds. Note if SL is hit before 3 minutes it won’t be considered a violation of the rule.

*If the real stop-loss is hit within three minutes, it will not be considered a rule violation. However, if the unreal stop-loss is hit within three minutes, it will be considered a rule violation.

Max Risk Per Trade (1.5%)

Limit: 1.5% of capital per trade

Type: Equity-Based (Real-Time Risk)

This means that at any point in time — including while a trade is still open — if the floating loss on a single trade exceeds 1.5% of your account equity, it is considered a violation. This is not just about where the Stop Loss is set; it’s about the trade’s actual real-time loss.

Minimum Trading Days Rule

Traders must execute at least one trade on five (5) separate trading days each week. Failure to meet this minimum trading requirement will result in the termination of the trading account.

Here’s the updated version using 0.01 and 0.1 as the example values:

Tick speculation/trading, martingale trading, and gambling behavior are strictly prohibited. If such strategies are detected on an account, the account will be suspended as a result. However, hedging is allowed.

In gambling behavior, lot size plays a very important role. For example, while you are allowed to use any lot size, suddenly increasing or decreasing the lot size significantly will be considered gambling.

Example: If you are consistently using a 0.01 lot size and then suddenly open a 0.10 lot, which is 10 times larger than 0.01, it will be considered gambling behavior.

Similarly, if you are consistently using a 0.10 lot size and then suddenly drop to a 0.01 lot, which is 10 times smaller than 0.10, it will also be considered gambling behavior.

Whenever you open a trade, it is mandatory to place a stop loss before closing the trade. Every position must have a stop loss set to manage risk and protect the account from excessive losses. The stop loss position must not be removed or changed after the trade is opened. Not following this rule will be considered a violation.

Trading Style

You are allowed to use any genuine strategy you want, as well as swing trading and trading during the news. Remember that RFF promotes genuine trading behaviour, so every trade that is replicable in live market conditions is well accepted. (Please have a look at section 5 of the T&C regarding not permitted trading strategies).

NB: RFF does not allow any Experts/EA’s, and using them will result in account termination. Please remember that all the positions must be closed to receive a payout; otherwise, the payout will be deferred.

Monthly Payout

At the end of 28 days, the traders that respected all the rules will receive a payout of 80%, 60% or 40% of the total profits generated during that trading month.

NO CHALLENGES, VERIFICATIONS or PROFIT TARGETS are required.

40% Example:

Starting Balance €100,000.
Ending Balance €120,000.
Payouts = 40% of €20,000

= €8,000.

60% Example:

Starting Balance €100,000.
Ending Balance €120,000.
Payouts = 60% of €20,000

= €12,000

80% Example:

Starting Balance €100,000.
Ending Balance €120,000.
Payouts = 80% of €20,000

= €16,000.
